Go Tell Fire To The Mountain

WU LYF (World Unite Lucifer Youth Foundation) will release their debut album, 'Go Tell Fire To The Mountain' on 17th June 2011.

The four WU LYF band members - Ellery Roberts (vocals, organ), Tom McClung (bass), Joseph Manning (drums) and Evans Kati (guitar) - recorded the album in St Peter's Church, a disused church in the Ancoats area of Manchester. Setting up on the middle of the huge, Venetian-style building, the band played every day, day and night, for three weeks to capture the raw, live sound of this self-produced record, before taking it to Glasgow to be mixed by Paul Savage. The result is 10 tracks of huge, uncompromising Heavy Pop.

Go Tell Fire To The Mountain is released on the band's own L Y F Recordings, the musical arm of the Lucifer Youth Foundation. Having garnered a huge amount of interest from the music industry, WU LYF turned down all record deals and decided to go it alone, paying for the recording of their album with money from a publishing deal and then teaming up with distributors around the world to get their music into the shops. The result is that WU LYF have total freedom. They own everything and will release their debut album on 17th June.

In the meantime, WU LYF will continue to spread their word across the globe. The band's first ever gig outside of Manchester was in the French Riviera town of Hyeres, and they've played almost as many shows abroad as they have in the UK. In early 2011 they performed two shows at the Sydney Opera House before returning to the northern hemisphere for a UK headline tour and dates across Europe and the US, culminating in a 2000 capacity headline show at the Manchester International Festival.
